Edit data settings

Important Notes

Garmin data settings

To edit Garmin data sources, sampling rates, or metrics, click the Garmin Devices box to open the Garmin Device Data page.

Turn Garmin Connect or Labfront Companion on/off

Toggle Garmin Connect or Labfront Companion on/off as needed, then click Save.

Warning

Participants may need to re-pair devices after changes. Send a notification if you modify data sources.

Edit sampling rate

You can adjust sampling rates for metrics collected via the Labfront Companion app. Click Save after editing.

Add/remove data types

You may want to remove metrics—for example, SpO₂—if they drain battery and are unnecessary for your study.

Select or deselect metrics on the Garmin Device Data page, then click Save.

Edit tasks

Edit task title/description

Click the task to edit its title or description. Click Save when finished.

Reorder tasks

If you want to reorder your tasks Click Drag icons8-braille-90 and drag the task into the position you prefer.

Archive task

Tasks cannot be deleted, but you can hide them from the participant app. This is helpful when:

  • You no longer need a task
  • A questionnaire has an error and must be replaced (live questionnaires cannot be edited)

To archive a task, click More kebab-3 on the right of the task and select Archive

By archiving a task:
  • New participants will not see this task
  • Original participants will no longer see this task in the future (past completions will still show up in the history)
  • You will still see a record of task completion on adherence and this data will be downloaded for participants that already completed this task

💡Tip

To view your archived tasks, you can click on Show Archived Tasks at the bottom of the Participant Tasks box.

Unarchive task

To restore an archived task for participants to see again, click Show Archived Tasks at the bottom of the Participant Tasks box.

Select the task, click More kebab-3 , then choose Unarchive. Review or edit the task as needed.

Click Stage Changes, then Save and Update to apply.

Once unarchived and updated, the task will be visible to participants in the app at its scheduled time.

Add new task

You can add new event tracking and scheduled tasks while editing your project using the same process as initial project setup. Available task types include:

  • Questionnaire
  • To-Do
  • Timer
  • Movesense/Garmin streaming

Click Save after configuring the task.

Edit task schedule

Click the task and its schedule to make edits. When you’re done, select Update Schedule and Stage Changes.

FAQs

Will the edits automatically show up on the participant app?

When you click Save and Update, changes are applied to the participant app automatically. Participants do not need to update their app, but may need to close and reopen it to see updates.

Can I edit a questionnaire after it's published?

Once a questionnaire is live, it can’t be edited to maintain data integrity. If you need to correct an error or update questions, archive the existing questionnaire task and create a new task with your changes.

⭐ Recommendation

Change the name of the older task after you've archived it so it is easier to remember and differentiate when looking at the data later.

Can I edit a task’s schedule?

Yes, you can edit a task's schedule using the live edit feature.

Does archiving a task affect data that has already been collected from this task?

No, archiving a task means it will no longer show up on the participant app, but it doesn't affect the data already collected.

Can I edit my Movesense data settings?

You cannot turn Movesense data types on/off or change their sampling rate. We recommend archiving the task and creating a new task instead if you need to change the data types or sampling rate.
