This article provides instructions on downloading the Labfront Companion app and joining a project.
The Labfront Companion participant app is what participants use to sync their device, complete tasks and questionnaires, and receive notifications throughout the course of the study.
Download the Labfront Companion App
Download the Labfront Companion App, available on the Android and iOS app stores.
In order to sync the device and receive notifications, you will need to grant Labfront permission by selecting Allow when prompted.
Enter Invite Code and Join Project
Open the app and enter the 6-character invite code from the researcher. Click Get Started.
You will be given a confirmation screen ensuring you're in the correct study, as well as a consent form. Click I Agree > Join Project.

Do participants need to download both the Garmin Connect and Labfront Companion apps?
Which apps your participants need to download depends on the data collection source of your project.
- For projects collecting Garmin Connect data only, participants will need to download both apps for the initial setup, but will only need to sync the Garmin Connect app daily. View the full onboarding guide here.

The invite code is not working. What should I do?
Reach out to the researcher in charge of the study. They will be able to generate a new invite code for you.
